MEDTRONIC RECALL BACKGROUND
NOTE: This legal issue is associated with defective
defibrillator leads, which have caused dangerous
electrical shocks and resulted in severe injury.
Medtronic, Inc., (NYSE: MDT, a
manufacturer of implantable heart devices.
Medtronic recently, issued a recall of several of
its implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) and
cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator
(CRT-D) models. The Medtronic recall concerns
devices that are generally implanted in patients who
are at risk for life-threatening heart rhythm
problems or advanced heart failure. Patients
typically suffer from symptoms that include fatigue,
shortness of breath and difficulty performing daily
activities.
