I'm writing to congratulate my friend and mentor, Vern Petri, for obtaining the rank of Diplomate of Trial Advocacy from the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) National College of Advocacy. ATLA President Ken Suggs presented Vern with this prestigious award on Tuesday at the ATLA meeting in Toronto. The degree of Diplomate of Trial Advocacy requires graduation from the Ultimate School of Trial Advocacy, hundreds of credit hours of coursework from the National College of Advocacy, and a long history of exceptional courtroom performance. As a Diplomate of Trial Advocacy Vern joins an exclusive group of 69 out of 60,000 members of ATLA.
